土地空 Grounding Space

Local Taiwan clay, wind, rain, sun

This outdoor installation-performance was created over a month during my residency at Taipei Artist Village. When I arrived in Taiwan, I tried to understand this time-space by working with local clay. I pinched humble clay vessels over and over again fom clay borrowed from the ground beneath my feet. After each day’s labor, I placed these bowls outdoors, offering these raw vessels to the seasonal rain, wind, and sun. At the end of this installation-performance, the accumulation of clay bowls formed a terrain that recorded the movement of rain and clay minerals.
